What I've learned about getting indexed and search engine rankings

Sorry I haven't posted in the last couple of days, I was out of town working. Anywho I read the book and did allot of reading online, and here's what I got. There are two major types of search engines, human powered, and robot powered. From what I gathered human powered search engines allow webmasters (someone who builds or maintains a website) to submit there site, the site will then be indexed (organized and stored in a methodical manner along with page location) upon a volunteer editors approval. The idea behind this type of search engine is that only useful websites will get indexed yielding more useful search results. I have never personally used one of these search engines but would imagine they are very user friendly. Then there's the big dogs like Yahoo, Google, and MSN. These search engines gather there information via spiders (robots that crawl through pages and spread off through the links in the pages) the spiders collect the text information from each page it visits, then indexes it based on that information. One spider can crawl over a millions pages in a day, not bad, not bad at all. However there can be allot of pages (millions) with similar content. In order to get referrals from a search engine you probably want to be within the first few pages of results. This is where a pages 'rank' comes into play. Each page is assigned a rank based on the number and quality of links leading to that page, update frequency, useful links leading from the page, relevance, uniqueness, and popularity (I'm sure there's more to it then that this is just what I gathered). The higher your pages rank is, the more likely it is that you'll be in the top of the search engines results for that topic. Getting indexed is easy I found numerous sites that will submit your page to 30 some search engines for free, or you can go to the search engines yourself and submit your site manually. However it could take time and it's not guaranteed that your page will get indexed. Some search engines only index your page if it was linked to your page from another page that is already indexed. Some search engines offer enhanced index services. Meaning that if you're willing to pay a certain amount of money you will be among the top. I am going to find out which search engines do that so I can be sure not to use them. I would like my search results to be based on the content, rather then the contribution.

So I did it, I figured out how to get my site indexed, it wasn't hard but I think that improving my rank will be. I am now going to research tactics used to improve ones rank without the aid of an SEO. Wish me luck.

What I'm doing to try and generate referrals

So these low paying sites have been so kind as to provide me with a wide array of flashy and compelling banners which promise those who view it hope of a sustainable income in exchange for a few mere hours of their week. Once someone clicks one of these banners they will be directed to the sign up prompt. When they register via my banner I receive a portion of their profits for as long as they click the clack and fill the surveys. Even better, if those who click my banner, put up a banner of their own, and someone registers through it, I get what is called 2nd tier referral bonus. Unfortunately for myself I cannot post such lies, unfortunately for those who would, these banners are considered spam and most forums and blogs would not allow them. So in order to generate referrals do I have to lie and break the Terms of Use on various networks. Do I have to promise a decent wage which will grow exponentially? If so I may be out of luck, because I won't do that. Instead I'm trying to promote the idea of using these low paying sites to generate seed money for the same purpose that I am, via a free 50 webs sub domain. I use a URL link instead of a banner and I make no unintended promises. No hits so far. I have no experience in web design or in attracting visitors but I am determined. I'd love some advice if anyone reading this can guide me in the right direction. So far I've submitted some articles with various high traffic web publishers. They let you put a link to your page at the end of it. I've found allot and I mean ALLOT of indecipherable information about getting your web page on the top of search engines, it's all gibber gabber to me. I just want to get indexed! So I picked up a book called Web design all in one For Dummies. Hopefully this contains the information I need to get indexed. wish me luck

Plateau effect

Okay so I have clicked the clacks and filled the forms and now I have plateaued.
They told me unlimited survey's and I have no survey's left to fill. False advertisement or what!
I'm not suprised, I knew this was coming but I had expected myself to be able to generate some referrals, as it turns out it's no swim in a pool, it's more like drowning in an ocean. There is alot of misleading advertisements out there and it's hard to know who to trust. I feel shammed by these companies because there is a minimum amount required to make to cash out and making that amount has proved impossible without referrals. Users beware! I am currently scouring blogs and forums for information on how to generate referrals beyond the means of spam. And for other more reliable PPC and survey sites..

little bit of money so far.

I've joined and am exercising four sites that pay me to either click adds or fill out surveys. I won't post names because it would be a breach of the user agreement. I've managed to earn a whopping 12 dollars and change after hours upon hours of viewing and filling. Not as lucrative as I had hoped. A wise woman once told me nothing worth doing is easy. So far I've gotten by in life on the philosophy that the only things worth doing, are those which compensate generously, but those days are behind me. I vow to stick this through and do what it takes to accomplish my goals, despite the hourly income of 2 dollars an hour. I suppose my next step with these companies is to recruit referrals because I'm running out of surveys, and the pay per clicks pay about a penny an ad. Not sure how I am going to do this but I'm going to have to if I want to reach my fifty dollar goal. Wish me luck.

I'm gonna try to start an online business with zero investment

There are many ways of making money online. Some of these include web design, marketing, editing, writing, site flipping, gold farming, evaluating, and selling ad space on web sites. But are any of these free?
Well, you can start a web page with no money. However there are a lot of downsides to using a sub domain with limited EVERY THING! Plus in order to make your site profitable you have to generate hits. Which is easier to do with somewhat of a promotional allowance.
I am going to suggest that creating such an allowance online is not only possible, but it's tough! Where can you find that little bit of money required to get your site started and out there.
The answer my friends is low paying pay per view and surveying sites. The option to exercise multiple pay per view and survey sites at one time provides hope of a decent hourly wage.
Grinding fifty dollars out of low paying pay per view and survey sites isn't all that hard. However it is time consuming, and it kind of might make you feel as though you you have sold yourself out. Sometimes it's what you have to do in order to build something out of nothing.
Anyways here's how it goes. Find some pay per click, pay to view, and pay to fill sites that require NO money from you. Do not ever pay these sites upfront as that is an indicator that you are probably the profit margin of that particular organization.
Grind through the adds and surveys, then get others to join these sites. That's how you'll make the real money! Save this money in your online account used to receive payments (paypal or alertpay) Take the money you saved off these sites and invest it in a domain name and a SEO.
Hopefully by this point you discovered your niche. ALL of us have a passion for something. And most of us share that passion with a large number of people. Therefor it's fair to say that most us have the potential to create or join a network in which we can correspond with one another, or simply just view each others posts, articles, reviews and ideas(exchange hits) and everyone knows hits equals money.
It's very easy to figure out how to turn your hard earned hits into money with so many affiliate sites and sponsored key word ad programs that will correspond with the content on your site. TheInternet is the way of today and there is no better time then now to stake your piece of the net.
Not only can you make money building a popular website but you can develop skills you will one day be able to contract out for a nominal fee. This is a reasonable goal to keep in mind during tedious hours of researching the how to's, the why not's, and the never ending trends.
At least this is all stuff I've been led to believe. That's right! I've never done it. These were all promises made to me. And I'm going to see how true they are, I've never blogged before (in case you haven't noticed), but thought this might be an interesting read. Hopefully you'll enjoying hearing about future failures and successes.
